UK Coffee Week 2017: A celebration of British caffeine culture
UK Coffee Week is now upon us, is it seriously a whole year since we last celebrated the UK coffee industry and the work done to help those achieve their caffeine creation aspirations?
For those unaware, UK Coffee Week is a nationwide fundraising initiative where we as trade professionals, coffee operators and customers can join forces and celebrate the growing British coffee culture, all whilst raising valuable funds for the communities worldwide that help us create the coffee we all know and love.
Since 2011, this initiative has helped raise over £580,000 for Project Waterfall, with all proceeds being used to bring clean water and sanitation to the coffee growing communities in Nicaragua, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia.
Last year was the biggest event ever held, with an incredible £275,000 raised, but we think we can go better this year! 2017 could be the biggest and best coffee celebration that the UK has ever seen!
So keep your eyes peeled for events going on up and down the country held in coffee shops, cafes and bars from the high street to church halls and everywhere in-between!
