Train cancelled after passenger has coffee thrown over them
Commuting by rail can be a stressful enough with the hustle, bustle and jostling of your fellow commuters, but it gets even worse if faced with a train cancellation.
Trains can be diverted or cancelled for any number of reasons, but for some unlucky folk on an East Croydon train were forced off due to a fellow passenger having coffee thrown over him…
Whilst we’re concerned about the passenger involved, this is a criminal waste of coffee!
Witnesses on the 15:42 Thameslink train from East Croydon to Bedford Station claimed that the passenger in question called 999 after having the hot drink thrown over them.
Pretty sure we've been kicked off a @SouthernRailUK train at E.Croydon cause a guy had a coffee chucked on him, had a hissy fit & called 999

The rail service was terminated at East Croydon as police were called to investigate the disturbance, with Southern Rail confirming on Twitter that the service was to be cancelled.
Southern Rail did not confirm if the disturbance that police were called to was due to the throwing of coffee.
@SouthernRailUK no use crying over spilt coffee.

Well as big time coffee-lovers, we are shocked that someone could commit the heinous crime of throwing the best caffeinated beverage known to mankind on a fellow rail passenger.
Things you could throw at a fellow passenger that wouldn’t waste coffee:
- A well thought through insult – maybe something about their poorly polished shoes or the colour of their tie.
- A nasty look – much like your Primary school teacher would when you were a tad out of line during assembly.
- A small fart – nothing like a silent-but-deadly whiff to really unsettle not only the offending passenger but every else by proxy.
- The kitchen sink – not really practical, but if you did this would definitely make the national and international press. I mean why would you travel by train with a kitchen sink? It just raises questions, also you’d be very strong.
We deplore violence, and so we cannot condone any actions of violence towards another passenger on a train, but please, if you must do such horrible things, please don’t waste good coffee.
Coffee on it’s own can’t hurt you, coffee is your friend. It also tastes amazing and can power you through your commute so STOP wasting it by throwing it at people on the train you horrible people!
