This phone app is helping New Yorkers get free coffee
America seems to get most things first, and we’re getting jealous, especially as this phone app is giving them free coffee every Wednesday!
The Jolt Coffee app gives the fine citizens of New York the option of a free coffee once a week, the perfect pickup on a morning commute.
A subscription model provided by the application allows coffee users to ‘subscribe’ to local independent coffee shops, with users being allowed to order on their mobile devices for pickup at their nearest coffee shop.
Subscriptions aren’t even required, they are available for those who drinks lots of coffee, with pay as you go options making your life easier if you haven’t got the time to wait for your brew.
We can see this kind of thing working a treat in a morning or at busy times when you just want to get that caffeine fix and go! Sick of queuing? Just fire up the application and order whilst making your way to the office!
The marriage of convenience and technology means that Jolt could be a great way for people to support their local independent coffee shops instead of the larger global brands who can spend money on this kind of ordering infrastructure.
Created by a team of coffee lovers, and with a built in map to show all of the coffee shops signed up, no matter where you are in a city you’ll quickly be able to locate the best undiscovered place that you never knew existed.
At present there are around 15 New York coffee shops signed up to be included in the Jolt service, with more locations and cities expected to be added in the coming months.
