Reduce, reuse, recondition: Reconditioned coffee machines
Pre-owned or second hand used to be a dirty word.
The thought of using something that someone else may have used in the past might not apply to all products, but to help not only save resources, buying a reconditioned coffee machine is a great way to save money on a purchase.
For the most part, buying a used or reconditioned coffee machine is a great way to get a superb coffee maker at an incredibly attractive price…
Let us be frank by stating that, in most cases, a pre-owned coffee machine might lack some of the bells and whistles of the more expensive, newer models.
This isn’t always the case, but it stands to reason that a brand new machine released in the past 6 months is likely to have newer features and technology than a 2 year old machine.
We want to be 100% clear with our customers, and so we ensure that you are aware before considering one of our (superb) reconditioned units.
But in some cases a second hand machine can be a better option than some lower volume or smaller ‘new’ machines. Whist this isn’t the rule, it can be the case when certain models are available within our stock selection.
Many people are concerned about purchasing a reconditioned machine, of course we understand those concerns!
Where was it used before? Did they take care of the machine? Was it regularly serviced and cleaned?
These are just some of the multitude of questions we receive from customers enquiring about or interested in our range of used espresso machines.
We can source used machines in a variety of ways, our two most common are from upgrades and foreclosures or liquidation.
In this instance many coffee shops will eventually exceed the limits of their machine or just fancy upgrading to a newer model.
We only take machines that are serviceable or are in acceptable condition before our expert team of engineers strip them, clean, replace, upgrade and repackage them for resale.
Of course, whether a machine is able to be re-purposed does come down to a number of factors, all of which have been considered before it has been spruced up and made to look brand new.
Sometimes manufacturers discontinue a line of machines, this doesn’t mean that official support may no longer be available, luckily we are able to troubleshoot, diagnose and fix a huge range of models — even those that are no longer supported by the original makers!
If you currently own a particular brand or model that has been discontinued, and have a problem, breakdown or service-related issue, then we are the ones to call. Our engineers know coffee machines inside and out, having decades of combined industry service experience, our team provide an exceptional coffee machine service.
No coffee machines leave our warehouse until everything has been tested, tried and we trust it to perform to the exacting standards you expect.
So if you are looking for a coffee machine, but maybe aren’t quite ready to go for a new model, then you can be sure that our refurbished and reconditioned machines will certainly be a solid option.
