Manchester finally has a cat café!
Manchester now has it’s first cat café, which is set to open later this month.
So you can not only enjoy your coffee with a cake but with up to 10 furry feline friends!
Is this the greatest thing to happen to coffee shops in history? We think it could be.
Aimed as a stress free space where cats and humans can relax, rest and unwind.
10 cats will live in the café full time with customers being able to stroke them, play with them and if you’re one of the lucky chosen few have a nap with them should they choose to curl up on your lap.
But there are some conditions, according to their site, the welfare of the cats at Cat Café will be protected by only allowing customers to interact with the animals if ‘they’ choose to.
So essentially the cats rule the roost here!
The café will not also host cat yoga classes, cat speed dating events (what even is this?) and even group mindfulness sessions.
By this point you’re probably wondering why someone would open an establishment like this? But cat cafés are big business in Japan, with supposed mental health benefits.
With less time and space for many people to own a pet, many people are looking to get their furry friend fix and these enterprising businesses are filling that gap.
Costing £12 per hour, the Cat Café works on an allotted time model, you book and pay per hour; with all hot and cold drinks included in the hourly rate.
Snacks such as cakes, muffins and biscuits will be available, so no hot food.
According to their site, it is suggested that you book in advance, we can imagine it will be very popular!
We hope that Manchester’s only feline friendly coffee shop is a big hit!
