Aussie coffee shop serves up latte in a carrot
The Aussie coffee scene is a little bit different to our very own, especially in Sydney, who have decided that standard crockery and latte glasses are just old hat.
Famous for creating a coffee that was served in the skin of an avocado, Locals Corner has taken coffee vessels to the next level.
This bizarre trend has continued with a latte served in a carrot. Yes, a carrot latte.
Sharing the creation on their social channels, the piccolo sized coffee comes in a hollowed-out carrot.
“We just like doing different things, we’ve been doing a few of these, one with an apple, one with an avocado, this week was a carrot and next week we will do something different,” cafe owner Vanja told Daily Mail Australia.
She went to explain that the coffee is all just a little bit of fun as creating a coffee from a carrot is not only awkward to make, it’s also awkward to drink from.
“It would be very hard to drink out of because it doesn’t hold coffee well,” she explained.
The effort level is definitely worth commending, as is the execution – look at that latte art! – but for a coffee shop that prides itself on weird and somewhat wonderful creations we don’t expect Locals Corner to stop there.
They’ve even trialled a coffee inside an apple on top of a pineapple made saucer. They’re definitely trying too hard.
If you ask us, they’re definitely trying too hard, but we honestly cannot fault the execution.
Make sure you check out some of the posts from the Sydney shop that have been shared all over social media. The comments are pretty priceless.
We think we’ll stick to drinking out of a cup ourselves.
