One of the biggest charity events in our own calendar, any chance to bake, make and take a few moments to enjoy a coffee is one that we do our utmost to savour.
If there is a company that is a bigger fan of a coffee morning than Caffe Society, we’d very much like to meet them!
As the world’s biggest fans of coffee mornings and huge fans of raising money for good causes, our celebration for MacMillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has been nothing short of a BIG success!
MacMillan couldn’t pick a better time of year to raise both money and awareness, with the event coming just a few short days before the International Coffee Day, we’re hoping to help the charity ‘Change a Life with Every Slice’.
With some coffee or tea and a bit of cake we’re hoping to help support those afflicted and affected by cancer, including the families of those that are battling or have battled the disease.
We raised £134.30 last year and we’re hoping to reach a little higher this year!
The only downside to such exceptional baking and stuffing our faces with baked goods was the severe lack of room for a proper coffee!
Typically we are an ‘eyes bigger than our belly’ bunch, meaning we had a load of lovely sweet treats to take home, a superb amount of money raised and hopefully a goal to beat for next year!
Our total figure is not yet ‘totalised’, with more money expected in the coming days, but we think it could absolutely destroy our previous record by nearly double!
All the money we raised will, of course, go to help MacMillan provide their exceptional treatment to cancer sufferers across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom – some of which we are sure might be, or may have been our customers at one point in time – which pleases us to know just how it will help.

The idea sounds like something lifted from a Science Fiction movie set in the future, but how would you like your coffee delivered to you by drone?
According to reports, tech megacorp IBM have developed a concept for a drone that is capable of dropping off a coffee by measuring certain facial, body and biometric data for when you need a caffeine (or decaffeinated) boost.
The company has filed paperwork with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with the technology described as: “Drone delivery of coffee based on a cognitive state of an individual.”
