Starting your day with a cup of coffee has become the standard practice for millions around the globe, but starting a workout after consuming a cup of Joe is somewhat less common, but maybe you should be thinking about upping the caffeine intake before hitting the gym.
A Spanish study published in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism found that trained athletes who took caffeine right before a workout actually burned around 15% more calories in the preceding post-exercise hours than those who had no caffeine at all.
